Ingredients
  

  • ½ cup apricot jam 170 g
  • ¼ cup pineapple juice 62 g
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup 30 g
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar 24 g
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce 18 g
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon cold water

Method
 

  1. Add the apricot jam, pineapple juice, ketchup, rice vinegar, soy sauce, and garlic powder to a small saucepan.
  2. Place the saucepan over medium heat and whisk until the ingredients are fully combined and the mixture begins to simmer.
  3. In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with the cold water until completely smooth.
  4. Slowly pour the cornstarch mixture into the simmering sauce while whisking continuously.
  5. Cook for 1–2 minutes, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens and becomes smooth and glossy.
  6. Remove the sauce from the heat and allow it to cool slightly before serving. It will continue to thicken as it cools.
